The Dumbfounded Elect, aka the F'd up dove. Someone I knew when this was painted called it that. I'll stick with The Dumbfounded Elect.
I explored this before when I was a child. The dove, always portrayed so beautiful and perfect in religious scenes. The dove, imagine the reality of the situation. it was compelled to the ark. Then it was housed in cramped and smelly quarters, surrounded by predators, as the enclosed world it existed in was thrown about for what must have seemed an endless time.
Then it is chosen. It, like the raven, is given a task. It waits, it is dumbfounded, it is disheveled and disarranged in all ways, but it must perform as it has been chosen. We can't even imagine the level of shock the dove would be in as it waits for its moment. It waited though. It carried on and succeeded because it was chosen.
